Energy saving upgrades can lower your bills and improve your comfort at home. However, the upfront cost of technologies such as insulation and home batteries can be expensive. Home Energy Saver helps lower the upfront cost of these technologies, making energy saving upgrades possible for eligible households.

Get a discount of up to $4,000 or a zero-interest loan of up to $15,000 to make your house or apartment cheaper to run and more comfortable to live in.

Who Is Eligible

  • Must be a property owner (homeowner or landlord)
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Combined annual taxable household income ≤ $210,000 (Notice of Tax Return Assessment Needed) 
  • Property must be in New South Wales (house, apartment, or new build)
  •  Not eligible: social housing or short-term rentals (e.g. Airbnb)

What Customers Need to Know

An iStore is a system that stores energy in the form of heat.

  • Loan: 0% interest, up to $15,000, repayable over up to 10 years, $0 setup fee
    • Example: If our price is $20,000 the loan amount is $20,000 (there is no more vendor fee)
    • IMPORTANT If the total purchase price exceeds $15,000, the client must pay any amount above $15,000 upfront; (so in our example $5000 upfront and $15000 on finance) 
  • Discount available to low income households no information on the income threshold yet): Up to $4,000 off upfront (applications opening soon)
  • Eligible upgrades include: Solar panels, home battery, heat pump hot water, reverse-cycle AC, EV charger, induction cooktop, ceiling insulation, double glazing, draught-proofing, and more
  • Multiple upgrades can be bundled into a single loan up to the $15,000 cap
  • Installers must be accredited through the program (Brighte approved suppliers)
  • A Notice of Assessment is required for all people on the property title (Tax return)
